John & Ariel have now done several concerts together in Spain and will next perform at the Are-More Festival in Vigo, followed by appearances in Seville and Barcelona later in the season.
They have several programmes available, including a unique Josquin sacred music programme Transfer in Mysteria which fuses vihuela intabulations with improvised vocal divisions, a programme commemorating the 400th anniversary of both ‘A Musical Banquet’ and ‘A Variety of Lute Lessons’, sacred music by Dowland in the context of a transcription of the Byrd 3-part mass, and various permutations of Dowland and Campion songs.

John renewed his partnership with American harpist Jan Walters at the Otto IV celebrations in Braunschweig in the autumn with a highly successful programme of Minnelieder, trouvére and troubadour songs, together with English music from the same period. Future programmes will include songs from the Carmina Burana as well as early English sacred music.
